Milestone birthday for BIOCOM
Berlin, 20.02.2019 – It is 33 years to the day since BIOCOM AG was registered in the Braunschweig commercial register. The goal 1986 was to provide the still very young biotechnology scene with specialist information.
Business plan, funding, venture capital? All non-starters. “Our greatest resources were enthusiasm and self-exploitation,” recalls founder Andreas Mietzsch. The first trade journal to be published survived only two years. Even the move to Berlin in 1991 did not bring the breakthrough. Only after about ten years did things noticeably improve.
The 33 stands for a sustainable success story: BIOCOM AG is today Europe’s largest information and communication company for the life sciences. And the story is set continue – the youngest employee is only 22 years old.
