GFFA 2021: five days dedicated to food policy
Berlin, 25.01.2021 – The 13th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture concluded on 22 January 2021. For the first time, the five-day BMEL event was held fully digitally.
“How to Feed the World in Times of Pandemics and Climate Change?” was the central question of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, which the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture hosted for the thirteenth time this year. For the second time, BIOCOM was responsible for organising the international event. Thousands of participants were present as experts from all over the world discussed resilient food systems in times of pandemic and climate change – 100% virtually.
As always, part of the event was the Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference. More than 70 ministers of agriculture and high-ranking representatives from 13 international organisations exchanged views and adopted a final declaration in which they committed themselves to a joint pandemic response. The declaration is an essential contribution to the Food Systems Summit of the United Nations in 2021.
