AMR Conference: Meet the new speakers

Berlin, 17.12.2018 – Only three months to go until the twelfth Berlin Conference on Life Sciences will once again be the venue for all things antimicrobials. The ranks of speakers are filling up. Researchers have until 9th January to submit abstracts for their poster presentations.

Antimicrobial agents and diagnostics for antibiotic resistance will be the focus of the 12th Berlin Conference on Life Sciences. In December, the event management team confirmed a number of speakers from industry, science and politics who will take an active part in the AMR event. These include Till Bachmann, Deputy Head of Division of Infection and Pathway Medicine, University of Edinburgh, Alex van Belkum, R&D Director at bioMérieux, Aleks Engel, Partner at Novo Seeds and Florence Séjourné, CEO at Da Volterra and President of the BEAM Alliance. Among the newly announced topics are the one-health approach, which looks at human and animal health together, and a new global AMR fund organised jointly with the WHO and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Topics such as funding, best practices in clinical research and development and market incentives in Europe and the US are of course also on the agenda. Last but not least, the most innovative approaches to combating antibiotic resistance will be presented at the conference. Scientists from SMEs and academic institutions are invited to submit an abstract for a poster presentation until 9 January. amr-conference.com/programme/poster-presentations
