|transkript 2/2023 is here!
|transkript, one of our German magazines, has been the leading industry publication for biotechnology and life sciences in German-speaking Europe since 1995. It covers current information, opinions, and background on business, research, and politics.
In this issue:
Next to water, concrete is the most widely used raw material in the world. But it has a huge problem: the production of its binding agent, cement. Biotechnologists and chemists have come up with solutions that could eliminate its massive carbon footprint. They aim to use algae, bacteria, or fungi in the production of building materials – in other words, construction with biotechnology.
Other topics:
- The fight against viruses continues – biotechnological developments against persistent, rapidly mutating viruses, often the cause of chronic diseases
- Agro-biotechnology – what is preventing the European Commission from changing its strategy on precision breeding
- Interview: Prof. Dr. Hartmut Juhl, Indivumed
- Transkript-Spezial: Manufacturing/Techparks in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, including an overview in table format
