The biotechnology sector in figures

Since 2005, we have had our finger on the pulse of the German biotechnology sector. Based on OECD criteria, we collect data and facts and summarise them in the report “The German Biotechnology Sector”.

On the basis of surveys currently involving more than 500 biotechnology companies, we collect data on the number of employees, sales, fields of activity, financing and much more. It goes without saying that we orient ourselves on the criteria of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Only in this way is a comparison between countries, such as Austria, possible. All biotechnology data are also transmitted to the OECD and published annually in the “Key Biotech Indicators”.
