The European industry association EuropaBio annually organises the “European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology and the Bioeconomy (EFIB)”, the leading European conference for industrial biotechnology and bioeconomy.

Since 2018, the event is co-organised by BIOCOM as a contract event – with great success:

Around 500 industry experts, investors and political decision-makers from 30 nations and 270 companies attend every year. Lecture threads, a partnering zone and high-ranking panel discussions allow professional exchange, business initiation and the presentation of visitors’ technologies. The programme is packed with more than 80 speakers that offer insights into latest R&D and regulatory trends in the areas of food, plastics, synthetic biology, bioprocesses, global bioeconomy policies, novel feedstocks, materials and fashion.

The heart of the event is the Start-up Village in the exhibition area, which was organised for the first time in 2018. Here, SMEs present their innovations in addition to an academic poster exhibition. The event also offers a lively exhibition with 27 presenting companies, organisations, networks and research institutes
