Berlin, 22 January 2024 – The thematic dossier “Enzymes” remains a perennial favourite on the information portal biooekonomie.de. Updated by BIOCOM on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), it brings the latest insights into focus.

Enzymes are the invisible stars of the bioeconomy. These biocatalysts act as specialised tools to drive bio-based production processes, making them indispensable in food production and numerous other industrial applications. Their exceptional capabilities are also highly sought after in research and breeding.

For years, the dossier “Enzymes – the Super Talents of the Bioindustry” has been one of the most popular texts on biooekonomie.de, an information portal managed by BIOCOM on behalf of the research ministry. The BIOCOM team has now updated the content. “As biological tools, enzymes help make industrial production processes more sustainable,” says Graf. “The dossier provides a concise overview of their vast range of applications.”
