Bio-pioneers in the spotlight
Berlin, 23.10.2020 – With “Die Biopioniere”, a new multimedia portrait series has been launched on biooekonomie.de which presents the trailblazers in the field of bio-based and sustainable management – via text, pictures, video and podcasts.
The bio-pioneers work as farmers, researchers, engineers and designers in the life sciences, in the food industry, the building materials industry or the fashion sector. They have made – or are about to make – groundbreaking achievements in their field. On the online portal of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, biooekonomie.de, they have their say in the series “The Biopioneers”. The series of portraits was conceived by the BIOCOM video team led by Oliver Paessler and Robert Quante. The multi-media approach allows for a variety of approaches. An entertaining introduction to the topic via the 5-6 minute video can be further enhanced with the half-hour podcast. A text-picture portrait provides the appropriate framework.
“The change in economy and society is already underway: A young farmer is breeding microalgae. A start-up produces mozzarella cheese in the lab. A fashion designer is fighting against fast fashion. The ‘bio pioneers’ make the change tangible,” says Päßler. “We are fascinated by their dedication to their subject and we believe that people with their personal stories best embody the spirit of the bioeconomy. Our aim is to create a panopticon with the ‘bio-pioneers’ and to bring together approaches that are only seemingly distant from each other. We hope for dialogue and exchange, in a sustainable and long-term way. The positive reactions of the bio-pioneers and our readers show that something new and promising is currently being created here.”
